There was a yellow canary on the lawn. Not representative of anything. No metaphor. Just an inexplicable tropical bird hanging out in the grass.
Jim, "Do you want a bird?"
Me, "No, but you know us and strays."
So we have a bird, added to the cat and dog, and the rest of the human menagerie. Do we count the neighborhood kids that come in and out? Mi casa es su casa, as are mis popsicles, granola bars, cookies and milk.
