It's the blog hokey pokey. You take the first step to a regular read. Take a step to the right with a trackback. A hop with to another. Do the scroll down. Comment all about. Then turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
It's early in the day. The caffeine hasn't kicked yet, but I'm just lucid enough to have weak flags waving in my head. That there is a big originating thought out there... That perhaps there is no original thought, and we are lemmings... That echoes by nature reiterate the non-original thought... That we are not echoes because we do add to and manipulate and hijack the non-thought to our own ends... That my voice counts and phooey on you (You, the long ago coiner of echo chamber).
Chuck : I do think the potential of using weblogs as a means of building community is worthwhile, and perhaps the echo chamber can be used to positive effect (a la Howard Dean's campaign blogs), but the noise is really drowning out the signal right now.
I'm reading the noise as music. There is an underlying melody, perhaps a backbeat. Counter moves. Syncopation. Some of us follow the line and do the line dance with little value added, other than a show of force that we're following the line (but maybe that in itself is the message). Gotta love the flailing guy who is in the midst of the party following his own tune. We're all hokey pokeying and doing our improvisations off of it.
I love it...Hap and Palmer would be honored.
