Jill and Liz have been deluged with comment spam in the last week. Me? About 10. So taking the hint have been updating my MT blacklist. Mine is available here, and includes George, Liz and Jill's.

This is the way to do it. :)

Think of it as a virtual circling of the wagons. As each of us find another comment spam pierce the defenses, we add the offending originator to the blacklist. We share our lists. They can't get in through that way. It's an evolving and collaborative thing.

It does require that you're using Movable Type for your blog, but if you are using MT, I can't recommend this highly enough. If you don't have MT Blacklist- you can find it and its documentation here. It's the best. (Thanks Jay Allen!).
