So When Did That Happen? (13)

Had dinner with Cathy Irving and family. Husbands, kids…all together. We ate in stages, kids plus Jess first. (Jess isn’t a kid, but is of the offspring category- as opposed to the parental unit grouping).

Anyhoo…I find myself at the grown up table. The place occupied by the older generation, and wonder when that happened? Dalaga ka na! Beyond having the family checking out the boyfriend, the asking of when I’ll get married, even past the “You going to have more children?” stage. Solidly in the group that yells into the ether, “What are you doing?”

“Nothing.”

“Well, stop whatever it is.”

Well, I need to go and check to make sure I’m still hip – fearing that if I have to check, I am so not.

This one looks back, that one looks forward. I look forward to understanding the expression “Horns, take me to the bridge!” Some Star Trek epidode I missed? The only reference I found to date for the expression points to the June 14 comment on Weez blog. Very hip. While searching I want to account for backwards spellings so I found that PIH is an acronym for “Partners in Health Care” and Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH). Interesting since in the comments to the March 2004 “honeymoon” entry there is lots of musing about post-pregnancy tension getaways.

You’re sounding like a blog stalker.
