I made tempura; everyone else made maki from the various ingredients.
Was introduced to musubi. (It wasn’t half bad).
Spam musubi is a popular snack and lunch food in Hawaii composed of a slice of grilled Spam on top of a block of rice, wrapped together with nori in the tradition of Japanese omusubi. Inexpensive and portable, Spam musubi are commonly found near cash registers in convenience stores all over Hawaii.

Dave, MG, Gabe, the twins and Donny (who pretty much is an adopted son) played Hexes while I cooked. Lots of giggling and yelling. Pretty great for a game I helped make. Then we hung out at the table for about four hours. Jim left. Aidan and Donny came back. Three more of Aidan’s friends came. Connor came. There was a constant flow of talk and laughter in-between bites and sips.
Just came upstairs to get ready for bed. Left Gabe and Gala giggling. It’s nice.
